Dynamic footer keywords

I'm doing a bit of keyword analysis on my sites and I have a question. It seems that spreading the keywords over the page is a good idea. Its common to have dynamic page titles and meta tags but do you think its a good idea to have dynamic footer tags to place the keywords in the footer too, hence keeping the spread of keywords throughout the page? Or is this a waste of time?

I've heard it also can be helpful to use the footer to link to your homepage using targeted keywords - but don't use same keywords on every page for the footer link.
