Dynamic body text, Secure domain question

    Hi all,

I'm new here - I've been in and out of SEO for the last 5 years.....currently more out than in! I have some questions for you all:

The company I work for has currently reworked the site so that the majority of it falls under a secure domain. What's the score with secure domains..do spiders crawl these?

The way that our company is structured means that our IT dept would like to give me an 'admin' panel to control body text, page title etc with that text held in a SQL database which would be fed through. Whilst this seems like a good idea, what is the situation from a spiders POV? Are there particular characters that spiders struggle with?

What is the score with re-directs...are these penalised by SE's? I have some pages from the old site still up which our IT team have put redirects on, will this cause me a problem?

Thank you for any help you can offer - sorry if any of these are dumb/frequently asked questions!

    Giles
