    I just installed a DVD-R burner and now I discovered i have DVD+R discs!

Before I waste a dvd+r disc, let me ask, can I use a DVD-R burner to burn DVD+R discs?

If Not I'll have to run out later and get DVD-R discs :(

    Thanks

no you have to use -r disks with -r burners and vice versa unless you have one that can burn both types.

Does anybody know the difference between +R and -R? It's always confused me, and somewhat has kept me from buying a DVD burner.

I just heard +r is better for dvd players, and -r is better for backing up things... but really a good explanation would work

When I bought my laptop i didn't even check to see what format it used because to be honest I really never thought about it. I think it's a bit like the blueray and HDD whatever system. There's a big debate about them yet I still don't even know what they do.

Is it - only drive mine burns anything but some faster than others so I still needed to choose on a format. Try looking on the DVD rom box to see all the formats it can burn.
