i am currently building a site to sell products from a company. the products description are lifted from the company site itself. I added the prices in, besides that, the content is the same.

so do google consider that as duplicated sites? my site will have other 'different' info add in on other webpages.

PS: not yet uploaded the site, so no url to show yet.

one more question: if some1 duplicates another person site content, will both sites be banned, or the newer site only?

also, what about those articles directory, anyone using them could be putting duplicated content on their site, right?

    - banned for duplicate content at the moment where you published some thing for other person or web site as you have the copywriting.
    - for articles directories or to submit to other web site, the system work:
search engines give for the first url where they take information about this content but ignored others sources. more articles directories add the resources box where you put your sources of information.
But if the owner of the articles directory publish this article as he have the copywriting , it will be considered as a duplicate content.

Generally, duplicates won't be banned; they are simply ignored in favor of the pages that have original content.

    Just do the following things
    - Rewrite the Content with some changes.
    - Make title and description totally differ from that original pages.
    - Put some extra content.

i think it will not banned.

Try to avoid duplicate content, but you will not get banned. Google picks the best one, then slacks the other off.

Duplicate content doesn't get you banned. Actual keyword spamming and a few other things get you banned.
