I'm having a bit of dillema here. I appreciate the importance of meta description and have actually used it for my homepage. However, in some sub-pages, although the titles are all different, the meta description as well as the meta keywords are being duplicated. Unfortunately, I have no way of putting no-index to those sub-pages at present. I have raised this issue with the developer and is being looked at. Is it better to just leave my homepage without the meta description and meta keywords? This way I dont have duplicated meta tags on some of the subpages? Or will I equally suffer in the absence of meta description particularly in the homepage. Also, what is the ultimate remedy here in the meantime, until they manage to sort out unique meta tags for every single page. Is it noindex or will it suffice if a disallow rule on robots.txt exist?
You can put same titles and meta tags there is not any issue just you will not be able to target much keywords and also you'll not be able to land users to the required page.
The best way of course is to have unique titles and meta descriptions for each page of your site. Until that modification is made, you cant much do anything about it, but you wont be able to target as many different keywords in the inner pages (sub-pages) as you could...
All the sub-pages have different titles. My problem is although all this subpages have different titles, they duplicate the homepage meta desciption and meta keyword. If you try and look it up on google via site:example.com, it all have different titles but same meta description and meta keywords as the homepage.
