I wonder if i create 2 website with same theme, let's say Charlotte Limousine and one with Charlotte Limo both link to each other with same address and phone details, and pictures... but different text, would that help me rank with those keywords Charlotte limo and Charlotte limousine.

    No. It's a closed loop.

What you should do is get 2 differing pools of keyword clusters for each site. Make sure there's enough search volume for the clusters. Then build links to the sites but don't interlink them.

Thank you guys, DavidK1 what you mean ?

The idea is original content and different IP address, build link for both, but put a link from one to the other.

If both are unpopular, it wont make much of a difference in terms of building popularity to each other. You would need more backlinking from various and related sources for any future difference

You haven't provided quite enough information here. If this is ALL you are going to do than it will be tough to rank based just on that. As you've described it, I imagine each site will only have 1 inbound link.

I think your issue here is more a matter of link popularity (aka trust / credibility with search engines). The on-site approach (different content but same address and phone number) should not be a problem here, unless you abuse this and do it with like 50 or 500 sites. For 2 sites, that should not be an issue, provided you do have different on-page content.

I imagine most sites you'll be competing against though will have a lot more weight (link popularity) than just 1 inbound link, so you'll need to overcome that. I think you would be MUCH better off (based on what you've told us) to use ONE WEBSITE and target those two terms... especially b/c they are so similar, you'll get synergies there and you can aggregate your "link juice" onto one domain, meaning you should in theory be able to build twice as many links (b/c your efforts aren't split between two sites).

Based on what you've provided, the only instance that I can see where you might be better off with two different websites here would be if you owned the exact-match domains for each of those two keywords. In that case, unique content with decent keyword density + exact match domain + non very competitive keyword phrases... well that might be enough right there.

Final thought - this is NOT a very difficult keyword to rank for. Why not just put those keywords in the title tag, body copy and build a few links for each to whatever 1 main site you have (either yours or your client's main site)??? That is the best and most advisable method here.

FUNNY - so non-competitive that this thread is actually ranking #10 in Google for "Charlotte limo" and #8 for "Charlotte limousine".

This is creating partner sites which is against Google TOS.

Viewing your impactdesign site and other similar domains you own, it's quite obvious that you're spamming the index instead of providing original content.

Please remove all corresponding domains or all of your domains will be penalized as spam partner pages.

Also, generating fake Google map reviews coming from the same IP address is also against guidelines. http://bit.ly/v28c9

I really hope that your current and potential clients are reading this so they can make sure not to work with someone who is looking to violate the Search Engine guidelines.

UnderCoverBrother you just join today to tell me that i am violating Google TOS , which is clear that your attention is bad. Also you did research and waste your energy, and time.. why not put those efforts on your website to rank on google with Charlotte SEO . I know who you are, but i will not waste my time on you.

First you said that viewing impact web design and other websites i own i am spamming the index instead of providing original content??? Impactwebdesign is Original %100 in content and design, so the other website we design for our clients or us... if you have an example show it.

Second, you asked me to remove all corresponding domains or they will be removed as spam partner pages ??? What you talking about??? i don't have duplicate websites or content, most of my website original in content and design and also seo strategy.

Third, i didn't generate fake google map review, Most of the reviews are real customers you can check them in my portfolio and contact them to ask if they authorize us to put their reviews or no... Some they did it by themselves some we did it instead with their authorization.

Last, you said you wish my clients can read that... which show your bad attention , and i know you are a SEO company in Charlotte as the link you provided show that you sear for me with Charlotte SEO... which is fine for me.. i respect all my competitors and believe that the market is wide open for everybody, i hope you will concentrate on your company and success instead of concentrating on others.

Most my customers are satisfied, and i use Google Guideline in SEO, Original content and build links from blogs, forums, social bookmarks, articles, pr, and directories.

I asked not because i don't know, but because i believe that success SEO is based on experience and constant learning from others.

    Thank you

Your reasoning in obtaining two different sites on DIFFERENT IPs...

    1. What would be the point of obtaining the site on a different IP unless you're planning to manipulate the rankings?
    That's AGAINST Google TOS

    2. Why in the world would you come on a public forum asking how to break Google guidelines with a potential client's website? Especially when you have your sites listed in your signature. You also indicated the keywords so now Google will keep an eye out for new sites trying to manipulate the rankings.
YOU ALSO INDICATED THE CLIENT'S SITE!!! http://www.harrislimo.com/

Funny thing is that you say MOST of your reviews are real.
Shouldn't ALL of your reviews be real?

You shouldn't be offering SEO services when you go on forums asking other people how to do client's work. It makes every real SEO look bad.

If you follow Google guidelines then why are you using a fake address for your client's Google maps?

It is one of the search engine loopholes that google have plugged. In the past, closed looped linking was found to pass infinite pageRank. Today, it is not the case. That's why link exchange is not recommended.

What you are doing is a type of link exchange.

If you guys have a personal issue I don't think this is the place to have an argument. Makes for a boring post.

I'm more interested in the question itself as it applies to SEO. I think all posts in this thread generally agree that making many websites for the purpose of ranking for different but related keywords is not the most advisable strategy. Reasons for this:

    • Google doesn't like it
    • Better to have 1 strong site than 2 weak sites (aggregate link juice)
    • General issues maintaining and updating multiple sites
    • Google is smart enough that if you rank well for Charlotte Limo that will also help you rank (and be relevant) for the other variation of that keyword

Now that said, I think its also worth noting that sometimes a company (one company) does have legit reasons for multiple websites on different domains, that may interlink. Those may include:

    • multiple brands - example: Frito Lay owns the Doritos brand yet both have the own sites (2 sites)
    • multiple locations - especially with franchises who may limit the individual location's ability to customize their site
    • tone, style, security - I've seen where companies wanted to have a blog but wanted it to be more casual or about the industry in general and thus didn't want it housed on their main, corporate domain

So really like anything there is no right or wrong here in general. Its a matter of the execution. In this specific case I'd really lean towards "no don't do this" but I don't have all the details. I can think of many similar cases where I might recommend it. All depends. No matter what though I'd advise unique content and a high-end approach to all sites you build.

What would be the point of the OP's statement of putting something on 2 different IPs?

Clearly your thoughts are not the same as the OP.

Either way I'm not indicating that having 2 sites is bad or good.
Doing it for the purposes of manipulating Google shows your intention.

I hope that people will stop posting their sites or clients sites when indicating that they plan to manipulate the rankings.

I really doubt any client would want to give out a fake address to later be penalized.

Again..you follow 100% the guidelines...so please explain the purpose of having 2 different IP addresses?
