I see that you are not supposed to duplicate a thread, such as an advertisement post for content or content creation. I can understand the intent, since the place could easily be awash in dupes, simply with the intent of an attention getting bump. So, how do I remember just what I've posted over a period of a couple of years? Yeah, the search engine. I know. But the idea I need to reread all my previous threads for fear of duplicating something I said a few months ago (and I'm older - it could be a week ago actually) seems kind of draconian. Maybe a 60 day rule or 90 day rule about that? We are, regardless of encouragement, still human. Lastly and most importantly, the genesis of this post: If I post a content auction and it doesn't sell, am I somehow suppose to restart that same auction or point to it my sig file instead of starting a new, but substantially the same auction? I like working here. I need the money. I am, due to time and custom, used to eating daily and sleeping under a roof. I really don't wanna run afoul of the rules and get some sort of suspension or my tally whacked. Color me slightly puzzled and probably in the early stages of Alzheimer's. Tatoosh
Tatoosh, An occasional slip up is not the end of the world. Constant duplication is another matter. At this time using your signature is the only option. LOL, with only 57 posts, at this point it should not be too hard to keep up with your sales threads. You might start a spread sheet regarding sales threads.
Thanks. I will try to sort out that signature link for expired auctions (how to do I post to get attention to it without being seen as a dupe in the content forum?) so that I am in compliance. I do understand that 57 posts are not a lot in the great scheme of things, but you should remember my Alzheimer's comment. Part of the problem was I started out a couple of years back but had to take a year off while I did some really intensive research into coping skills as a patient in ICU. After a couple of extended periods of research, I was left with what is unsaleable content (who wants to hear old farts talk about their health?) and some memory loss. What effing fun. But I will do my best to keep track of my threads, offers, and auctions. And will consider implementing an Open Office spreadsheet solution. Tatoosh Freebie Hint: If you wake up on a respirator with your hands tied to the bed frame, totally dehydrated, but incapable of drinking, get the nurses attention, ask them for water (when they free your hand) and they will give you a nice swab of water on your lips which will do nothing to alleviate the ache in your body for moisture. You can ask for a drink, but they will tell you no. Wait a bit and then tell them you have to fart but can't. Really. Their response to discomfort due to gas is to give you a big shot of water via that tube in your nose. And it is like diving into nirvana! Really really good! <-- you can't pay people to do this sort of research.
Okay, so I just received my infraction as I pondered your instructions for a previous post offering 5 culinary articles for sale. But I am slightly unclear about the duplication? I offered 3 culinary articles for auction, at a different price, so is that duplication? If I offer some articles in one auction and the auction closes can I offer some of them in a different auction with some other content? It is not a "true" duplicate, since I've changed the offering in order to try and find what will motivate someone to bid. It is not my intent to "duplicate" anything, but I am unclear if every content offer/auction has to be for completely unique material or if residual articles are allowed to be mixed into a new package? And gee whiz, an infraction when trying to understand the rules? After that really poignant freebie hint? It is a harsh wold here. Tatoosh
