I have a website which I built and I like the template. The template is css layout, and a bit of html. I know Google and other search engines penalises websites that have duplicate text content but will they penalise me for using a similar templates (colours, text and logo will change). The Websites will be on the same server. Also if the search engines penalise will there be a way to get around this e.g. changing the filenames etc.. P.S. I have searched this forum and Google but been unable to find the answer, I am sure someone would have asked this before.
Does Google even read ur css file? They spider the text in your HTML file, they don't even download the CSS file and read it.. they're not a browser.
It is the code that is delivered by the server to the spider that is taken for consideration! Have a look at these pages in the manner, and you should answer your own question
I guess the div tags will be similar on all pages. I thought google looked at the css file, I guess they don't.
