I think no threads should ever be deleted because a buyer would want to know about how many times the site was sold previously and who owned it in the past. On flippa when a site or domains is listed for sale 2nd 3rd or 4rth time a number appears with the domain like this image so the buyers know it has been sold/listed before.
Right, knowing the rules as you do now, you would never buy a site that had previously been selling links on DP if you wanted also to sell that site's links on DP. I don't mind DP allowing a site to be listed twice, which would solve your problem. (He just needs to figure out how to do with while still blocking the spam aspect of relisting) I just do not like the suggestion of deleting the previous history of a domain, which I have found useful.
This is how it used to be earlier. However you know what happened? 80% of the folks will open tens of hundreds of thread for a single domain. If the thread with a site or domain didn't sell and gets pushed back, people used to open another thread instead of bumping it because they can only bump one in 30 days or one in 7 days in the case of premium members. This polluted the platform with shit load of duplicate threads. I believe this system was in place to avoid this crap. Deleting a thread option should never be given to any seller as people will again follow back the same trend as above. However there should be something that needs to be done to address this: There should be a logic / rule that should allow a different user to sell the same domain that was previously sold on DP. However this feature can still be a non-sense as people will simply create a different username to re-sell domains that didn't sell on the first go. This was a hit on Flippa because to re-list you gotta pay money. It may not suite DP, because all you have to do is open another thread for free. May be @digitalpoint can clarify what he thinks about this.
It's probably going to end up being something where we favor knowing it was actually sold vs. someone's friend starting a sale thread again. So could end up being something like if it was paid for with Instant Pay (we know money actually changed hands), maybe it will be a month and the Instant Pay buyer can relist it. Or maybe 12 months if it wasn't with Instant Pay (where we have no clue if it was *actually* sold).
I'm agree with the solution. This is why I always doing business with seller whom using 'instant pay'. It more secure and we could leave the feedback.
This is the real solution. This will stop the spammers from creating duplicate threads and help the real buyers and sellers.
I was not suggesting the *same* user could relist a site over and over. Just that the same site could be re-listed by a new owner of the site. There is no reason to allow the same seller to relist a site a second time. DP will probably figure out a way to identify is a site was sold and then allow only those known sold sites to be relisted.
I am curious how this guy opened two threads with same domain name. https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/eddiebertrand-com-pr4-pa23-da11.2676237/ https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/eddiebertrand-com-pr4-pa23-da11.2676235/
I don't see what the big deal on a site that has been sold and why you need that history? I sold a site recently and the person did a great overhaul on it and I can't think of any reason why others would need to know he bought it from me? (BTW was done with insta pay so no trickery there)
Yes because the other thread was deleted by Mr. Hogan earlier today after he saw my post. But before that there were two sale threads by same member using same domain name.
