Duplicate descriptions

I have the same description for every page, should I remove the description for every page except my index? The sub pages for my website don't really require a description so I just copied the same one from my index. If I remove the description from the subpages I am pretty sure Google would pick up the proper text for it.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

You better modify the common descriptions to avoid probable SE penalties IMO.

I ended up removing all the meta descriptions/keywords which are all duplicates from the main index. My website is new but Google has already indexed 240 pages which the majority come from the forum junk pages (calender etc.) and it shows the same description for every link.

I will just leave the meta description/keywords in the main index and work on the rest later. I figure it would hurt less to remove them now than leaving the duplicate descriptions/keywords in every page.

I also did some searching on "duplicate descriptions" and this is mainly a big no no from what I been reading.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Each page of your website should have a different description tag . for each page , insert the main keywords in the description.
