Hi, I would like to know if you guys think that Google would flag this as duplicate content. Lets say I write an article, put it on my site and submit it to 200 article sites. Do you guys think that this would actually harm my site, since the article on my site is also on 200 other sites? Do search engines actually punish sites that do that? I was just wondering... Im very sorry if this question sounds stupid Thanks, Stev
Yes, I would say Google would punish you for doing that. Rather rewrite the article that you want to publish on the article sites... I think also the amount of duplicate content that is on your site and others could depend on how heavily G punish your site Hope this helps
Yes of course. Google will surly penalize sites for doing that. However, if you do not give proper credit to the source, there is a risk of being banned. Bot algorithm is intelligent enough to distinguish original and duplicate content. Most probably only the site with duplicate content will be penalized/banned. So always give proper credit to the original source.
Yes. It will be considered duplicate content. Google often ends up penalizing the actual website instead of other websites, which are simply publishing your article.
I think that google won't penalize you for that . How big G knows who took your article and put on those 200 article sites. Maybe it was your competition. And if you put that article first on your web site and then on article sites, you won't be penalized because your site have original article. That's my opinion. And my advice is never put article from your site on article sites, it is better to write new and unique article for that article sites.
I made this mistake in the beginning. I made a site with about 100 static pages and managed to get almost all of them indexed. Then I did something stupid. I took a couple of my original articles and published them on ezinearticles. That, of course, led to the article being picked up by lots of other directories. I got quite a few backlinks, but eventually the original article on my site was dropped from the index. I'm not sure if I was "punished" for it, besides losing a few pages in g's index. I think google knows that sites like ezinearticles are directories and it doesn't punish them for dup content, though. The article is still indexed there.
Google DOES NOT penalize you for duplicate content, it ranks the most powerful page in the SERPs. A good strategy would be to perhaps alter the content that you submit to article directories so it doesnt duplicate with your own site. Those claiming it does, I would LOVE to see evidence of it.
