    Hi all-

I've searched on this, but my technical expertise is at a fairly low level, and I'm hoping someone here can give me a clear answer...

I've got a blog, gpstracklog.typepad.com, but you can also get there by typing in gpstracklog.com. My wife, a better techie than me, is on the other laptop right now trying to figure out if it is domain mapped or forwarded. EDIT: She says it's a CNAME change.

Regardless, the content is the same. Is this a problem in terms of SER?

Sorry, no live links. I'm too new here.

If a search engine picks up both sites then one or both of them will suffer a penalty.

The best way to avoid this is to redirect one to the other using a 301 redirect (not a frameset redirect).

I thought that if you have duplicate content on 2 sites, Google will take the site with most marketing/PR and give that one promincance and the other site is on page 300...

I have actually experienced this, and having a hard time reversing it...
