I'm not sure if this rule (written or unwritten) is still in effect. But I'd always heard that duplicate content - e.g. articles from article directories that were on your site as well as other sites - hurt that content in the search engine results. So, to anyone with an opinion on it, doesn't that hold true when you submit your article to a big bookmarking place like a Yahoo Buzz? They do scrape your content, to a degree, unlike other places that just link to your source page...
Google knows where the original content was originated. If you have excerpts from the original content and put a link back to the original site then I don't think Google will penalize you (many important sites are doing this and they are ranked ok).
If you use an article from another site, Google will know that the article didn't come from you originally so it isn't going to rank your article as high in the rankings.
Duplicat content is not good for a site. because search engine will know your content didn't originally
Absolutely right, Google always give Preference to Fresh and Quality Websites Content . for this concern you do not need to hire anyone, You can also write your website content.
Duplicate content is just like any other feature of your website: it's good when it enhances your website for your visitors, and it's bad when it doesn't. Here are a few rules of thumb that are good to follow: (1) In most cases, duplicate content should at most be a small portion of your website (I'd say <10% is a good rule of thumb) and you should reserve it to the most relevant, high-quality articles. Never pull duplicate content by an automated process: hand-pick the best and most relevant content and use your own careful judgment. (2) Always cite the original source of an article or any other content you republish -- even if you own the copyright or expressly obtained private permission. If you've received permission, state this explicitly. Otherwise you'll look like a plagiarist to anyone who recognizes the content is duplicated. (3) Never ever add duplicate content with the idea of having it get indexed by and be a landing page for search engines. It's duplicate content, so it won't do well in the search engines unless your site is much more visible than the site you're taking the content from, and this is highly unlikely for an overwhelming majority of people who post on these boards. Add duplicate content only when it's something your existing readers / visitors would enjoy reading as they click through to it from elsewhere on your site, or if it's something that can draw them in from a link elsewhere on a site that you control (such as sharing the article on your site, through various social media or links on your blog).
I personally think that those big article site submit your article to hundered of useless sites which always have a duplicate content, so that does not matter for them.
All I know if from experience, I once built an autoblog (purely duplicate content on a blog page with the home page as a landing page) and got on the first page of Google in 22 days. Day 28, de-indexed, it was a rough blow, the only reasons it could have been de-indexed was I built 600 links on a brand new site or the duplicate content, you be the judge.
Duplicate content is a term used in the field of search engine optimization to describe content that appears on more than one web page, even on different web sites. When multiple pages contain essentially the same content, search engines such as Google prefer to only display one of those pages in their search results.
Duplicate content is like old newspaper, people only love fresh newspaper every morning even Google also don’t love Duplicate content and your website can get penalty by Google for using duplicate content.
There are actually 2 types of duplicate content. The most obvious type consists of a copies from other sites - you probably have enough comments about that already The other type is duplicate content on your site - and that is far more damaging, because Google consider that spamming. This can be a real problem if you use automation software to create blog posts. You can easily get the same article copied from different sites and appear as separate posts on your site. This is about the fastest way to get your site ranking to fall off the cliff
