Will Google consider copying a list of horses that has won a race from another website duplicate content? Do I have to create my own unique list by hand? Thanks.
If what you've got on your site, is exactly the same as is appearing on another website, then when someone performs a search for it, Google only wants to show one result. In the case of a lost of horses names - if that's what matched the query - then it is very likely that you will be filtered out if you've got exactly the same as a more established site. But a list of horses is much of a muchness. If the rest of the page has original content, then that list wouldn't be something I'd worry about. (copying stuff from other websites, however, is an all over BAD IDEA in general)
If using Wordpress, there is an RSS plugin that does not allow syndication of your post until after the time the blog owner specifies. This should help wit having your content show as the authority site for the content.
Same horse names should be fine. Alot of different websites share the same information. Just make sure the website itself is different and unique.
I think the key is to make the meta tags of that webpage unique. You can also modify the beginning part of the content.
Hi there, Only different meta tag can not save you, you must have something new in your content because Google can easily catch the duplicate content and can penalized you. If the content can not be change as your horse list then better to change the sequence of the list.
Jup sorting and changing paragraphs place, meta descriptions and some title and introduction part will be just fine if you are not going to do this for all articles.
There is very simple answer to that. Google Search works as follow: to give you a most complete answer to your question and from the most trusted source. Because your page is less important and add to that you are copying content from another page, you just wasting your time. Unique info on pages, that is the key to get good traffic. with unique content, you get more everything and slowly google will move you to front pages and then u can add some non unique content but still has to make some changes to look unique etc. from my own experience, i have great website and good traffic, I decided to create a less broad website with same products, and nothing happen. Every product on my second page, i have to make unique as well, otherwise, as i tested, Google only shows my 1 website and nothing on 2nd website. because content the same. and one site older t, than another. etc. Just copying is a waste of time.
