Hi! I have a software downloads website. Different versions of one software has similar description. Is it bad for SEO? Example: Firefox 3.5.2 (http://www.gigstor.com/download-firefox/) and 3.5.1 (http://www.gigstor.com/download-firefox-3.5.1/) - these pages is almost identical, except version of software. How it make more SEO friendly?
download mozilla firefox 3.5.1 (h**p://www.gigstor.com/download-firefox-3.5.1/) will have less competitor i think, you can try this one
I believe bot of them are SEO friendly... Maybe you are asking how make them different for the google and other SE?
No, I'm just ask if it's ok for google to have two almost identical pages on site. I put importance for _http://www.gigstor.com/download-firefox/ more than for versions pages in sitemaps file. Is it enough to google (and other SE) to think that main page is more important in serp?
You can differentiate the two pages using the different features of the versions, that will help Google to identify the pages as a two different pages.
