You probably will not get any traffic from it . Otherwise , Everyone else will copy and paste all the time.
Although members say yes, Google says no http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2008/09/demystifying-duplicate-content-penalty.html Let's put this to bed once and for all, folks: There's no such thing as a "duplicate content penalty." At least, not in the way most people mean when they say that.
You might and properly will lost both the PR and SERP's of the web page if it's marked as a Duplicate Content by G
I have seen sites which has higher rankings with copy-paste document, google is not the police of the internet to check out if the content is original.
Page rank is determined by links, so NO, but yes the page that uses it will be ranked lower or de-indexed. That is very bad if it is your homepage that is using it.
Google duplicate content penalty exists but is not what most people here some to think. Theres a lot of myths about it floating around, read this article: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1248069/myths_about_google_duplicate_content.html?cat=15 I have sites that have a lot of dup content that rank in top 3 of google search results.
Interestingly, I've created content, posted it, and had Google give a different site 'the nod' for having the 'original' -- because the other site posted it on the same day, and they had a higher PR and trust rank. That's why it's not a "penalty": Google understands how fast information flows around the 'net, and they can't always keep up. A penalty would be unfair.
This proves 100% against what you said: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...hen+start+blogging!"&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
I have a couple sites with duplicate content, and the first one has not been affected in the least. The SERPS are through the roof. The second site can't get out of the sandbox for anything, even new content.
This is either the most honest response there is or we are being mislead about duplicate content. I will make a distinction. I find the dispute seems to vary if we are talking about duplicating a website v.s. duplicating an article. Many webmasters will submit the same article to hundreds of directories without penalty while a webmaster who creates two sites with the same content seems to be doomed. After researching this subject until I'm sick of hearing the words duplicate content it seems the most prominent philosophy is it hurts you if you duplicate a website but it doesn't hurt you if you duplicate an article (i.e. I use isnare service with no problems). If submitting a duplicate article doesn't hurt you, my question is does it help you beyond the first submission. I would love to see firm and positive guidance on this subject, but at times I think google mystery is part of our culture.
