A person writes a superb content with great effort and enthusiasm, but when he sees that all the credit and benefits are being taken away by other people who are just copying the content from the pages. This is a great disappointment for the genius content writers. Now the thing is that what we can do to protect the values of their content. Does anyone know how to look for content copying, how to catch them and whom to report them? What kind of actions can be taken against them?
Mail the owner of the website 1st and ask him to remove the content. If you dont get +ve reply send a screen shot to WEBHOST. If still the problem persists then you can file a case agaisnt the owner of the ite and make the site down.
By doing a WHOIS and NSLOOKUP you can find out what web hosting company hosts the site in question and you can send them a legal take down notice with them as well as send cease and desist notices to the website in question. If the offending website is hosted in the United States one has even more protections under the DMCA In the following thread I posted a form template that I used to send DMCA take down notices to Google's Blogger; you can modify this form to create a DMCA take down notice to send to the web hosting provider hosting the website: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1048795&postcount=61 I have found that if one sends polite take down requests to non U.S. web hosting providers, they will often times assist in addressing copyright violations and in some cases they have even terminated the accounts of websites that have stolen my content. To track down and detect stolen copies of your articles, you should use http://copyscape.com. If you subscribe to their services, they will search for copies of your subscribed webpages on regular basis. Don't let yourself be a victim of content theives, there are plenty you can do to track down and take down websites that steal your content.
