Duplicate Content Question

Hi all... i have a question about duplicate content.

I am having some articles for my site written. I plan on distributing these articles to various article directories and marketing sites... is this considered duplicate content?

Its a simple question, and this is the way I have always done it, but i have heard conflicting arguments recently. So basically, im asking if distributing an article that i have on my site across multiple distribution sites (article distribution sites, squidoo, hubpaages, etc) considered duplicate content? Is it necessary to spin them?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, this would obviously be duplicate content since all of those articles would be exact duplicates of each other.

I agree. However, your original article will not be punished by G. It will put all the rest down in the pile though. At least you'll be getting referral traffic from them - that's the good news to article dup.

Why not just spin the article manually. When you change one word in each sentence, you can create a few unique articles

You will have to change more than one word in each sentence in order to create "unique articles".

In my opinion, sending on a article distributing sites is not considered duplicate content because you just let them post your article. This will not considered duplicate content as long as they will put your NAME as the AUTHOR of the article.

    thanks

I have found that when you submit a article, it gets copied by other article sites anyway so you will always get dupe article content.... nothing you can do to stop people scrapping article content...

Yeah if they are the same articles, then they are concidered duplicate content. There are some free automatic article spinners on the internet, but you can always just manually reword them. Thats always the best solution.

Better to spin the articles but changing one word only will not do.

Search Engines devalue duplicate content, so distributing articles you have on yoru website to other article directories is not a good idea.

Create the unique content or buy/order unique content from content writers.

It would be better to spin them, but that would be much of a hassle (financially, primarily). Most webmasters get one article written, and submit it to many content farms (article directories).

Duplicate means duplicate. Google will penalize for this

This would qualify as duplicate content to me. Google will overlook all of it.

I agree with the majorty it would be considered as duplicate content, Spinning the articles really does not take long. I would not go for spinning software if you want to keep the quality of your articles.

If you go to the content creation part of this forum you can place an ad and get a DP member to do this for you if you do not have the time.

Of it takes more than one word change per sentance to spin an article - what does it take? How much should you change?
