Duplicate content question

Hello,

i have a question regarding duplicate content. It might sound dumb, but please bare with me i'm a designer not a seo pro.

If i post an article on my website(and google indexes it), and someone copies the article and posts it on their website will i get penalized?

From my experience, you wouldn’t.

Probably depends on when Google / search engines picks up your article I think, if the person who copied you got indexed before you then you are in trouble. Not 100% sure if that how it works.

Anyone else might have opinions on this ?

 

Nope you won't.. As long as your article gets indexed first.

 

No .. but not because of digitech said .. You will not be panelized because there isn't a duplicate content penalty ...... It's a filter , not a penalty .. and you can't tell which article will show in the serp, but normally it's the article firstly indexed ..

 

google doesn't have the duplicate penalty.so don't worry

The answer is absolutely not. The whole duplicate content penalty is a myth.

Think about what you are suggesting for a minute. If we were competitors do you think I could harm your site by simply copying your content? The next day you copy mine now we are both penalized. You really have no control over someone copying your content and if dobbing out competition was that easy there would be total chaos as webmasters warred trying to wipe each other out.

 

google takes Content duplication a bit seriously. As you few of them explained if you are content is copied from your site and pasted on his site or blog and his site or blog gets indexed before than you the he is the actual owner of that particular content. Copying the content which is one page might not make much difference but if a situation comes where two sites your's and your competitor's site has the same quality except the content duplication then his site has more points than your site.

 

Firstly, I have not been here at the Google forum for some time. I mostly mingle at the Affiliate program forum because that is what i am into. But I decided to stop by here today just to see what is going on in the Google forum. But I am amazed with what some people thing. I really wonder how people are just so ignorant about the whole IM thing.

There is no Google penalty for duplicate content!!!!! I will say it even if Google officials were here. I have made my test and can prove it. Get it from someone who is doing full time article marketing.

Publish an article on your small site. If a big site like CNN.com picks up that article an publishes it, which of the article versions do you think will rank better! CNN.com of course. Is the article not duplicate and CNN.com? yet they will out rank you 100 times.

It all depends on the authority of your site, (your SEO and links)

 

no.............your article will not penalized................the person's website who is copying your content...........may get penalty.............

Yea since you are the first person to post it you shouldnt worry as google knows that recently this issue has increased a lot

 

but what if Google crowed they site first and yours after then Google would think that the owner of the article belong to them

 

"Official" doesn't necessarily mean "true" ..

 

As long as your article gets indexed first.

 

se will not penalize becoz ur website will index first and chances r u will get higher ranking than duplicate content sites.
