Hi guys, just wondering if I had an article on my main site, then re-posted it on the forum for discussion of that article, and did this for all articles (upto 50) would this be considered as duplicate content by Google?
Yes, only one copy will be indexed. What you should do is put a short snippet from the article, a small unique comment on the article, then a link to the full article in the forum. Then with the other comments from your forum members the forum pages will be unique enough to get indexed...and you'll pass some link juice from your forum back to the original articles.
Hi, yes it would. I always remember that google is committed to bring unique content to the user and so any unique content will be rewarded by them with greater levels of exposure, duplicate content will be punished. From google info I understand that short info will not be penalized but whole artilces/pages will. All the best Dave
Thats what I wanted to say. Thanks freelistfool to express my thoughts in words. This is a very clear description for building fresh unique content and link building!
