Duplicate content problem

Let say my site has 50% original content pages and 50% duplicate content pages. The question is how the duplicate content pages reflect on original pages ranking? Is page ranking calculated for each page from one site separately or is there some influence?
    Thanks for your input.
    Tuan.

I don't think the duplicate content affects your PR. But it can affect your SERP.

Think your whole site might be affected by the duplicate content penalty that Google usses. Google might see your site as a spam site due to the fact that half of your content are duplicate.

In my opinion it would be best to make some changes to those pages. ;)

I would never include duplicate content on any of my sites personally... Even when I am building a page based off the same thing on a single website, I at least try to change the text around so that some of it is different.

Try to avoid dup content as much as possible... Google doesn't like it but I doubt it reflects on your real content.
