Let me ask you something, have you actually tested this? And its also clear to me that you have not read my posts...

I never said duplicate content was better, all I said is that there's no duplicate content penalty, that's it. Your post is also implying that I'm wondering about duplicate content, I find that amusing considering I stated that I have tested this.

So next time before you post a comment read the thread, and maybe you'll avoid making a fool out of your self.

 

Believe what ever you want to believe, but just take a minute to think about the millions of websites selling physical products online, many using the same product descriptions...

What ever way you look at it Google cannot penalize duplicate content with out slapping millions of websites, just run some product descriptions from Amazon though Copyscape and you'll see what I'm talking about.

 

I agree with Quality and not quantity. Duplicate content definetly does not do as well as unique content. To me the answer should be obvious. If everyone would use the same content and get ranked google would loose its relevancy because you would go thru 30 organic listings with the same content which in turn would turn users of google off and looking for a different engine that serves relevant results. So to say duplicate content is not a problem I dont agree. I know someone said well if that was the case what about product descriptions they are all the same. I hear that arguement. There is a difference between content and product description. Google knows that product descriptions are the same and therefore its ok. This is also why product information only sites generally do not do well in organic results. Ofcourse unless you are a power house like ebay and amazon and even in those cases thsoe sites are billions of pages and not all the information is product so there is unique content as well.

Me personally I would not use anyhting but unique content on any of my sites.

I would think to an extent yes in the sense that you might be ranking on things that you would otherwise rank on if you had more unique content.

However if you blended the two concepts and wrote unique information for high end terms and used duplicate content on lower end terms that are easy to get ranked on that might work.

I would use duplicate content as filler if at all. I guess its all a matter of presonal preference and how you want to do things.

I have an old website that was once an actual business and I truned it in to a adsesne site which did real well but has been sliding since i have not paid attention to it in about 5 year.

This site had product information and unique content and at its prime was ranking on thousands of terms and I was getting a $1500 check every month. Now this was in the beginning of adsense when people were clicking thru more. Now the site has slid for sure and adsense click thru seem to be down. It now generates about 200 - 300 a month.
