Earnings won't be lower because of that, but with duplicate content you hardly reach good SERP.

yeah the Payment won't be smaller because you've got duplicate content... you know some people are living about that... they are called "scrapers"

I think its a good idea. For example www.drudgereport.com. If you look at their visits the numbers are crazy. I think its genius. They just link the most interesting stories and people go there to read the most relevant stuff, instead of going all over the place.

You need content to drive visitors, and with duplicate content you will probably find it a lot harder to get a lot of them, and to sustain those visitor numbers. Bear in mind that a lot of other sites are out there using the same articles.

In most cases google will just ignore the duplicate content or it just won't rank for anything. Bottom line... Focus on good, original content.

But the Drudge Report has PR7. If you can get a site to have PR7, then go ahead and stick any old article on it that you found somewhere else, and you will get the traffic, because you probably found it on a site with a PR of much less than 7, so you'll beat them. Am I right?

So the real question is, how do you get a site full of copied articles to have a PR7???

    1.lower in search engine
    2.lower visitor
    But not lower earning :)

I am not sure about the click value in case of duplicate content, but it is very difficult to get good search result positions with duplicate content.

I have a site with 500+ articles taken from article sites for which I have done a lot of link building. I also have one incomplete site with 5 original articles with hardly any link building done.

My 5 page site gets as much traffic as my 500 page site.

The problem is not duplicate content, is how you show it to your visitors, what type of content (is it a real article or just spam?) and you cant be on Google suplemental results and you need to rank high for some keywords.

Its all about how many visitors you get, how well your ads are placed and how good your content is. If its rubish people wont even see the ads and will hit the back button faster then you can say "Please wait..."

Well there's a challenge for you. How about learning to write good articles for the site. Once you start you can get hooked on writing and you'll find it much more interesting than just trawling for duplicate content.

Not entirely true... Depends on how long the article has been up at the other site. Search Engines reward time as well.... That's why sites that have been up for years rank higher then ones out up a month ago. It also depends on the subject matter of the site, if the original site is about cats and the PR7 is about cars and you post the cat article on the PR7 car site, it will most likely hold little weight.

The duplicate content penalty is really the "supplemental result" penalty.

This happens with dupe pages... they are in the engine but they won't rank for any search terms.

Can you make money with them? Sure you can... but you'd better figure out how to get the traffic there without any organic listings.
