Duplicate content - how to move files from one domain to another?

    I have created a new website, and I want to basically copy some content from my other website onto this new one. Then I will delete the pages from the old website.
    Will my new site get penalized for duplicate content because my old pages will still be cached? And if they do get penalized initially, will the penalty eventually go away?
