People continue telling me that duplicate content is bad, but I see it brings me traffic! I have a blog where I publish best YouTube videos, articles from EzineArticles.com and Google still indexes all these pages and I'm getting more and more traffic not only from big G but from all other search engines! Also, hundreds of pages from my website are indexed in Google! Soooo...I don't understand why is this bad? Can some explain it to me? Why do lyrics and game cheats websites have so much traffic and high positions in Google SERPs - they also have tons of duplicate content? What could happen if Google indexes thousands of pages of copied content??? Thanks!
I'm glad it's working for you. I personally think that it will be bad in the long run and every now and then Google will do an annually clean up that may be bad for all the stuff you got there. But who care what people say if this is working for you good luck!
If you do not have you own original content, Google will F*CK you in time. If you have some original content and nice relevant links, then you will just do fine. Cheers,
I found some people claiming that Google doesn't penalize websites because of duplicate content! They say that Google only pushes them down in SERPs! And that's OK with me: I don't want my website to be on the first place for keyword "funny pictures" (It would be great but I don't need that)! I want it to stay on page 5, but I want to have tons of indexed pages on page 5! And it will still bring me visitors! What do you think?
Glad to hear that you are enjoying your SERPS...But mate, I would personally suggest you to drop the duplicate content idea and always use original content for long term results in search engines. Also, Google does NOT penalize sites using duplicate content but instead Google filters the content and decreases the position is SERPs. Good luck,

I just wanted to search for best and funniest stuff on the web and put it in one place...I don't want to break some rules! I just want people to easily find good, interesting and funny content....just like when they visit Digg or something like that!
I run a music download site with a database of over a million lyrics and we are picking up natural visitors. Before anyone mentions ethics: legal music downloads with a vast percentage of the sale going up the food chain to the artists and labels. The lyrics we rank first for are the ones where I've actually listened to the song and written the lyric content myself and made a point to include all the oohs, aaahs and deees in the song making it unique. Unique content in the fullest sense of the word is best but duplicate content on your own domain and how you manage it is far more important than external duplications.
Duplicate content is probably the most talked about topic when it comes to article marketing, if you only know about it. Otherwise, what your doing, keep doing it... Its working, right?... I have been posting the same article to different sites for the past 2 years and there is nothing "bad" happening. Actually, I have been climbing the SERPs all along with the keywords I'm trying to target. The only time I see a problem with duplicate content is when the exact same content is on the same site. BAM! In other words, when you have 2 pages or 3, 4 - on your site that read and look exactly the same from top to bottom, from left to right. Google will actually let you know that this is a problem, if you are using "Google Webmaster Tools". Which I suggest you do so.
If you place some fresh content, It will be cached very fast! I can't say that, copied content will be penalized one. Many people using copied content for their sites.
Duplicate content can be tricky. It is definitely filtered by G as far as SERP is concerned. Some original content is needed to really rank well.
Wordpress Blogs are good at over coming this. Just try it on a static website and you'll what happens.
Well... This could just end up being a huge debate... So, basically, just do what works for you.. And for others its a matter of trial and error.. Then do what works... Some people here just go along with what others say and really have no clue as to what they are talking about... "SOME PEOPLE" Whatever you're doing, and its working, again, stick with it... "Consistency Is Key!" Tip: Build Authority Backlinks and you will rise to the top in NO TIME at all.
ok.its good news .but my suggestion to you don't do it for long term.As once it finds by crawlers it must be banned.
