I have always heard that google disowns your site for duplicate content but recently i heard that Google doesent mind duplicate content after your site is indexed first with the article. Wouldn't doing that and submitting to various article places also raise my pr at the same time after those articles are indexed?
I don't think it's a question of IS or ISN'T as much as whether it IS or WILL BE. Duplicate content is just bad form IMO, and if it is not penalized it very well should be. I've seen arguments for and against it being a myth, and I have not made up my mind on the matter, though this duplicate filter would certainly explain why many forums get their archives stuck in supplemental results. To get around any duplicate content filters you can simply use a different page set up, and then tweak out the wording of each individual article. By doing both of those, on the off chance there is a filter, you'll have the blessing of ignoring it completely by having several pages that are completely different (yet say the same thing). Another way around it would be to write a long article, place it on your site, then chop it up into smaller articles for article submissions. Rewording the smaller articles would likely be a bonus as well, though that would not be that much of an alternative. EDIT: As it pertains to link development, the links will count, on at least one level. Though I suspect that non-duplicate links are better, as I have seen word that even duplicate anchor text is not the greatest. As in, vary your keywords as well as content for best results. Q
Duplicate content is one of the main ways to get into the supplemental index. Links from the supp dex don't help your SEO goals.
