Is it bad if I have my site setup so that it can be accessed by
    www.site.com
    and
    site.com

will i be penalized for duplicate content? How can I www.site.com to redirect to site.com? Do I want to do that?

    Thanks

Lets put it this way it is easier to do it than to fix it later and it does make everything a heck of alot easier. Here is how to do it:
    http://www.1stsearchenginerankings....tent-from-the-google-index-and-301-redirects/

And yes I do recommend doing it. And when you do people typing in http://yourdomain.com will be redirected to your www.yourdomain.com and noone will know but you and Google. And BTW it is recommended by Google.
