Duplicate accounts?

Hi,

My dad wants to open an account here. However, all computers in our house are one the same LAN, meaning we all share the same IP address. Is this going to be a problem? Because I read in the rules that more than one account on the same IP can get your account banned. If so, is there a way we can both have an account here? He hasn't made one yet, I want to clarify this first.

PM a moderator who's online at the time. Tell them both usernames and the relationship.

You do still risk being banned if you're caught doing the following though:

1. Participating in each other's threads.
2. Exchanging rep with each other.
3. Exchanging iTrader with each other.
4. Promoting the same sites or products or anything else where you're essentially acting as a single person with the same goal.

Do the mod's see everytime someone signs up from the same IP?

Say my brother signed up? Could I be banned?

I was just wondering.. Because sometimes I go on from a public computer and I don't want to be banned.

Why not get your own computer?

 

If your in the same house.. I think you all come from one IP depending on how its networked..

 

If your normal IP isn't the same as another users (if there is one), I doubt you'll be banned.

If you tell the mods your brothers username before he signs up, that should be banned. Mods can be found here.

Why do I always doubt these are different people, in these circumstances, though?

 

I think it is better to get your own computer rather than duplicate account.
