duplicate account penalties?

i have a question which I may have a hard time wording it right so bear with me.

Let's say I have two seperate adwords accounts but they both use the same credit card for payment and the campaigns point at the same url. Does Google penalize this? How do they determine duplicate accounts? Do they check for duplicate credit cards? Do they check to see if more than one account is pointing at the same destination url? What is the penalty?

Does anyone have any information about this?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Google allows to run duplicate accounts. Let me know if I'm wrong.

    Thanks.

Duplicate accounts exist. I had two running in the past. Both on the same billing data.

The problem, I would think, are two ads pointing to the same place. Whether it's a duplicate account or not, I've advertised the same URLs as other people (as an affiliate) and I couldn't get as much traffic because I was competing with the other seller. They'll run one ad or the other, not both in the same search results at the same time. So you wouldn't get any benefit of doubled-up exposure.

Two Adsense accounts is a definite no, no but imo two Adwords accounts should be fine as it's money going TO Google and we all know that they never say no to money! :D The best bet might be to drop them an email and let them know that you have 2 accounts and if that's ok. Even if they don't respond to the email, at least you've got a record that you explained your situation to them.

At one point I has 5 accounts with Google...all with the same credit card. I never had any issues. My reason was because I was bidding on the same keywords, on 5 different URL's. That's called a "Blockade". I bidded on the top positions to block my competition out.
Why are you using the same destination url for both accounts?

Why would somebody want 2 or more accoun'ts when I can most probably do it all in one account, unless it is for somebody else in your family and they are using the same credit card or something.

Shimon, Do you use the same credit card/ billing information? Does Google allow to run more than one account? I have a problem that I have multiple accounts. Now, I try to use only one account, I have deleted all campaigns in other accounts, but the problem is not solved. Please suggest me what should I do? I have called them twice time per week but they said that the account is under review.

Standard account limits such as max number of campaigns (25) and number of keywords (50,000) come into play.

I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know. I was just wondering why they would limit you on an account basis.

If you have the same keywords for the same url's it won't run them both at the same time. One or the other either get less traffic or it'll split it inbetween them. Atleast thats what it has done for me.

Nope,i don't have same keywords for the same url. The problem is they can't tolerate one IP address with two account. Maybe..
