HiI have a Wordpress site and I have posts under a child categories within a parent category (only on category ticked) and I am getting warnings of dupicate meta descriptions in my Google webmaster tool. What ways are there around this ?Do I remove all my child categories and just have one main parent cats covering all the posts under that large subject. Or do you just forget about the dupicate descriptions.I am using Wordpress SEO, if that makes any difference.Any tips would be mosts appreciated. Thanks

As you are using Yoast's Wordpress SEO, you can set the default meta description for categories to use the category description (%%category_description%%). Make sure you have set a unique description for each category (including child ones).

What ryan said, you can apply that method. But I don't think you have to worry about it so much as long as your pages contents are unique.

The meta description is what will be seen in search results, so taking the human factor into consideration it's an issue; it's a chance to entice visitors in. How your site is presented in search results will impact your CTR.

Meta Tags of your web pages should be unique, so please try to make different meta tags for your each category and page.

Ok so it's already using the category description as your meta description. But you probably do not have a category description written. So now you can go the category page (/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category) and write a unique description for each of the child categories.
