Dup content, what percentage?

I think I've been hit by google for dup content and it sucks!!! This duplicate content filter is tough when you follow some sort of template. Is there a consensus on what the % is before google counts it as dup content?

I doubt there is a specific cut-off percentage. I'm sure it varies based on a number of different variables (like everything else Google does).

Best thing to do is open two pages that you think might have duplicate content and just look at them as a user. Do they look like duplicate content to you?

That's how I was figuring it too, but google seems to be filtering out alot of my pages. have over 15k indexed, but about 9k of them aren't showing titles or desc in the SERPS. At first I was thinking that my site was temp down when the spider must have come back through to those pages, but now it has been pretty consistent drop. The thing is I compared my site to other similar websites and they have all of their pages indexed properly (some 30k+). Do you think it can also be because my site is fairly new?

I've seen recent posts that mention you should now strive for 60% uniqueness, up from 35% before this year.
