Well I can't say I didn't give it a try.... A month to test it out averaging 500 impressions a day on a small website of mine and over that month I think I made ALMOST $7 bucks... sad isn't it, I guess YPN! just isn't for me... so I'm guessing that I'm dumping it. it's mostly due to the fact that the ads have NOTHING whatsoever to do with my site, so I think I'm going to go back to Google.... I know that there are probably a lot of us out there that have had the same experience, but until Yahoo! gets with the program (serving up related relevant ads) I guess it's bye bye for them.
Was the site you tested on a gamer site? I am trying to figure out if it's not just an ad irrelevancy factor or if certain categories of sites don't work well. There are some people mentioning big returns from YPN but for the tests I did, YPN was not measuring up to Adsense.
We had it on two sites and dumped it on one. To bad too the site I really want to use it on gets an average of 1500 unique visitors per day. The other site we are leaving it on has a low CTR but the revenue per click is much higher so it makes more. I agree if YPN can ever get the ads targeted better they will get 100% of our contextual business.
tbarr60: yes it was a gaming site. not only are the ads irrelavant at times it took 2 or 3 seconds to load, which loaded my page 2-3 seconds slower than normal. I think your on to something (only works well for certain categories)... Maybe we cna compile a list of categories that WORK and those that do not, so people won't waste their time and lose money trying out YPN for categories that are proven not to be very profitable.
no, not really. usually Google ads load with the page, I noticed that with Yahoo ads the page tends to be more sluggish and loads a lot slower than usual.
Making bank then huh King Wako ??? Works: Webmaster Sites Doesn't Work: Console Gaming websites (such as cheat sites). Feel free to add-on people...
Oh no!!! I've only had a few of those clicks. The site only gets 20-50 pageviews a day!!!!! Category: Computing / Internet
WOW Nintendo that is amazing. If that is true I am glad because I got some people that will YPN my site for me and my sites are all related to webmasters/seo/microsoft.
I was doing super good with mobile stuff but its really talied off since xmas.... thinking about increasing my adsense exposure
My advice would be working on SEO and content and getting more links to your site to improve your traffic. 500 imps can be improved in no time...
wentworth: this is a brand new site, about a month old. yet with adsense today only i've made about what i've made all month with YPN with nearly triple the amount of daily impressions i was receiving from YPN!
YPN is still in Beta and Adsense probably has more advertisers lined up plus Google pays for international clicks. It depends on the site and other factors. But YPN for me pays more than google. I don't miss the 3 cents google clicks...
----------------------------------------- It's very different on everyones sites, I have a nice webmaster site and have targeted ads the same category, they were earning me on average $5 a click for 2 weeks in early NOV, they now have an average EPC of 25 cents.......
I have seen the same and had YPN on all sites, but it has dropped too low for me, so I have it on just a few and am back with adsense. At least the ride pays
