Dumping Godaddy. Which hosting companys do you streaming movie website owners use?

My shared Godaddy hosting account is sucking more than it normally sucks.

I want to move to a real hosting company.

I was one click away from creating a shared hosting account on Hostgator until I decided to read their TOS ... particularly their very, very lengthy list of banned website niches. No go on streaming movie websites.

Would any of you streaming movie website owners be able to suggest a hosting company that won't ban my streaming movie and movie download websites?

    Thank you.

Is the site legal or not? If you're streaming/downloading copyrighted material that you don't own the copyright to, you're going to need offshore hosting. No US host is going to allow you to violate the law.

Good point. I didn't explain my websites correctly.

They are websites that provide links to where these movies can be streamed/downloaded. I don't actually host anything ... just provide the links.

I'm not sure they are technically illegal, but they do tend to get shut down if they get too large.

I have been hosting them for 5 years on Godaddy and they have never given me a problem. But Hostgator seems pretty explicit about not allowing them.

Yep, VinCme is correct. That is most-likely considered to be unlawful as well. Godaddy simply might not have caught you, as I'm pretty sure linking to illegal content is also against their TOS...at least it used to be.

Your best bet would be offshore hosting.

I run a hosting business and would not be happy to host such sites. Best to look for an offshore account.

I agree with DaleB your movie sites should run into problems with any US based web hosting company.
