Dummy rank in the list of directories

I tried to use several lists of catalogs, and I stumbled across a problem. Many of the lists is not the current rank, or even deliberately higher than the state. Some links are broken, etc

 

yea even the one in your sig has sites listed which are full of badly categorized sites, spam and broken links etc

 

Many lists are not current and not maintained, while some are misleading.

 

You have to create your own directory list. No directory list is better than your own!
I know it takes time and people are lazy but if you're working on many projects it will pay back.

 

you are right,
as zexy said, you can create you very own directory list for yourself.

 

@OP: Agreed with your point that many directory lists have outdated pagerank. Checking and updating pagerank for 1000s of directories can be a daunting task

@Zexy: I agree with your point as well, you might want to monitor the forum for new directories and keep building your list. That's how I built my directory list.

Any kind of 'ranking / rating' assigned to directories can be challenged, it is simply directory list owner's way of rating directories.

I wish only the lists that are sorted according to Alexa rank. Such lists must be constantly updated.
