dummy Question for Link building

    Hi,

    I want to promote blog and brought the Software to generate backlinks , this may be a stupid question but i have different post article i want to promote.

    Now do i need to get backlinks to my main site or i need to get backlinks for individual post article with unique keywords ?

    also a followup question since my knowledge is beginner level in terms of backlinks i never tried to promote backlinks.

    1.)Does back links helps gaining high PR ranking ? does PR matters ?
    2.) does backlink helps in ranking high for targeted key words ?

    1) yes, pr is based on link popularity and the pr of sites linking to u
    2) yes, but u need links that have anchor text of your keyword(s)
