Ok well i just started a blog a couple days ago. I had one up for a couple months about a year or 2 ago and decided to give it another go. Imusing wordpress and im having some trouble with writing my posts, these are dumb little quirks but there really pissing me off. 1. When I go to copy and paste something from another site to quote it, wordpress automatically uses the texts formattingfrom thesite i copied it from and cant find a way to change it back to the default font; theres no size, text style options. 2. Whenever i hit enter to start a new paragraph it automatically sets the cursor above the paragraph i just wrote and moves it down a line. Theres more but i really want to get these questions answered first.
1. The only way I know is to click on the HTML tab and remove the formatting. Otherwise, you can highlight the paragraph and use the toolbar to reformat to whatever you want. 2. Is that after you write your own P or after copy and paste? Anyway, click HTML tab and move the cursor to the end and type some letter. Then go back to Visual.
I honestly just recommend nettuts.com I cant post links yet here, but nettuts has multiple wordpress tutorials that are quite helpful!!
under users>authors and users> find this and change it: Visual Editor Use the visual editor when writing there is a check box there. there might even be a tab in the write post area depending on the version you are using. (visual vs html)
My suggestions are to NOT use the Visual editor in Wordpress (always use the HTML) because it's more trouble than it's worth, and to always first paste any clipboard data into a plain text editor before copy/pasting it again into WP. May not be what you wanted to hear, but after much struggling with the same issues, they were the quickest and best solutions I came up with.
