Its no secret to supporters of either party that we have an educational crisis on our hands. A few data points that demonstrate the severity of the problem: Only 61% of the students in Los Angeles unified school district graduate. Rural counties with much fewer students had an even lower graduation rate like Inyo County with 48% and Nevada County with 46%. Fifty-three percent of working-age Los Angeles County residents have trouble reading street signs or bus schedules, filling out job applications in English or understanding a utility bill. The national average is 48%. 5% to 15% of Latino immigrants cannot read or write in their native Spanish 67.7 percent of Hispanic students in California graduate high school 59 percent of African Americans in California graduate high school Meanwhile. the brain trust on that claims to care about these types of problems is focused like a laser on things like the creationist problem, so these stats will likely be getting a lot worse. It is no wonder that interviews like this one are probably representative. That interview was performed in New York, but from my experience, that level of political illiteracy is common place. Our voters are getting their political education from entertainment shows like Saturday Night Live. Only 26% of them know how many votes it takes to break a filibuster in the senate. So next time you get you get excited about your political candidate, regardless of his leanings, remember. Most of the people who put him/her in office, or keep him/her out of office, are completely ignorant on the issues. Perhaps it is time our government started handing out free Xanex for the rest of us.
More comedy from Obama supporters in 2012.
Well... after this woman's compelling argument I think I've decided to vote for Obama.
Cut welfare for everyone except minors , senior citizens and the disabled . Then see natural selection in action . My guess is that the nation's IQ will jump by over 20%
This segment sums it up nicely, without simply focusing on the poor people. No doubt some of these people hold higher degrees and put a great value on their political opinions.
Well, basically if you look at it, Liberals focus on uninformed people that vote EMOTIONALLY. DP proves that. Democrats target the inexperienced.
I may not be a scientist or hold a couple of FICTITIOUS degrees ( anybody can say that online. I can say that I have a phd on deep space telemetry and a graduate at harvard law school. Even a European in this forum has said he has more than 3 degrees ! Astronaut, Architect etc..) These pricks you say are EXPERIENCE ! What a pile of BLACK SH*T is that ?

Some people out there may be wondering what this woman is referring to when she says "Obama gave me a free phone". This woman is at a Romney rally protesting and says she likes Obama because she thinks Obama gave her a free phone, when in fact the phone she uses is the product of two Republican presidents. I'm not sure what to find more irritating, her stupidity and racism, or the misguided liberal policies of the so-called "extreme right" Republican presidents. To give you an idea of how these programs get abused (outside of their use as political weapons), check this out. Do the math. By simply making sure "the needy" were not double dipping, they chopped a third from the annual budget required for the program. What are the possibilities? Here is one. 50% of the lifeline customers had two government subsidized phones. Here is another. 25% of lifeline customers had four free gubment phones. Now take that math and apply it to the food stamp program, the welfare program, the unemployment program, or any other free government handout and you will understand what type of fraud and waste numbers are associated with government programs. Perhaps I should look at the bright side. In all likelihood, a full 50% of the people under these programs truly need the help and use the programs honestly....
