Dumb question (I think) but really need to know

Hello everyone. I am a little nervous asking this question since in my other thread I was "yelled at" by several people. Basically, I have a site that I sell my products. I also have Google Adsense on there. I wanted to know if instead of selling my own products, if I can use an affiliate site such as CJ (Commision Junction) or Linkshare so that when someone clicks "Buy Now" it takes them to a link to the product of some other site. Can I do this with Google Adsense? I read in the terms that you cannot use other advertising systems, but this isn't really advertsiing, its an affiliate link.

    THANKS!

    -Daniel Pollack

P.S. Who here thinks CJ is better than Linkshare, or vice versa????

No you wouldn't use Google AdSense for that. You'd simply put up ads that are provided to you by the affiliate network or merchant (if they have an in-house program). You can use an ad server (hosted service) or get your own ad rotation script and DIY.

If you are just getting started it doesn't matter which network you join and they are not exclusive. Also check out Shareasale and maybe some merchants directly who may have their own in-house aff. programme more targeted to your niche.

Oh just reread your post and I'm not sure if you can mix the aff. ads with AdSense on same page/site. I think it's ok as I see it all the time, but reread their policy.

    Cheers,
    Peter

Yes you can have Adsense and affiliate links on the same page because affiliate links are not contextual advertising. As to your other question, I think cj is better. :)
