I used both Drupal and WordPress. I quitted Drupal because once I had more active modules, Drupal started having memory issues. Now, WordPress has advanced so much, is more user and developer friendly and you can use it to create any type of website.
Wordpress is more popular. 15% all CMS build with wordpress. You can compare Drupal and Wordpress with real examples of websites, that use it - http://wordpressthemesamples.com/ - http://drupalthemesamples.com/ I want to say that the popularity of Drupal will fall in future
Look if someone tells you one is better than the other than their plain wrong. Each have their own use. I personally switch them up depending on the projects requirements. If you are just starting out grab WordPress and go to town. It's easy to learn and you can make a great website fast. Drupal has quite a learning curve and is more resource extensive (this is also due to the more complex webapps typically created with it). There are some huge and unique websites built with Drupal. Such as Angies List and Edmonton International Airport. As you can see from the content structure possibility is endless. WordPress is good for more straight forward websites that follow a typical website content structure.
From my point of view, I thing Wordpress is most used and most user friendly cms. I am using on my website and it match perfectly. I think that Drupal is not safe enough.
Wordpress is less safe. Drupal is not the same as Wordpress. Wordpress is a simple blog system. Drupal is more of a framework.
Wordpress is for blogs, Drupal is a framework to make any kind of website including blogs. I only use Drupal because I can add any feature I want in the future even if the website starts out as simply a blog.
before I use drupal, and then I try to use wordpress. and I think both are equally good cms and each has advantages and disadvantages of different. for it depends on your own which you think you can develop again. I guess that's all ..
Eventhrough having working experience for more than a year in wp, i would prefer drupal because of its security
I am neutral about both cms. But i think it also depend on skills that for a beginner wordpress is better option as it is easy to develop a website on this system and if more advanced functionalities is required then Drupal will be best option.
Wordpress is light weight and comparing wise more easy to understand and good for every developer basically Drupal is good for basically who wants high end security from hackers and even reliable for every developers Choose Drupal because its good for us
