    Yeah, Drupal is great...

Easy templating system, easy install, great options generally...

    A great bit of kit.

You should also consider Civicspace (a drupal spinoff) for an elegant solution with all the power.

I'm currently using both Drupal and Civicspace - I also have several Mambo sites. I must say that i agree with the Xaneon folk, Drupal is proving to be far more productive. As for SEO, Drupal outshines Mambo where SEF URL's and tableless layouts are concerned (quite flexible templating etc) - two of the first things I consider when selecting CMS'.

    Cheers,

    JL

    Wow...

I just had a look at their site - www.spreadfirefox.com uses Civicspace too...

Looks like an impressive bit of kit.

How's it in terms of user contributions, i.e. ready made contribs you can easily bolt on so you don't have to re-invent the wheel (again). I studied Mambo and it's available extension and there's tons for my needs (travel related). How's Drupal in that regard?

To be honest - I haven't really joined in with the Drupal user community.

I've really only ever used it out of the box, and hacked the front-end around to get it to do what I want.

I've used SEF 404 on my hobby site and it's great.

And don't forget that mambo is about to become Joomla

And back on topic, here's a recent hot thread: CMS: Mambo, Drupal and SEO

    Thanks for the answers everyone!
Speaking of Mambo SEO optimisation - SEF 404 is great, tho only one problem with it is that it can't deal with duplicate urls. Also, the development is stopped for SEF 404 http://www.mambers.com/showthread.php?t=20016&page=17&pp=10&highlight=404sef :(
BTW, Xaneon is now called OpenSEF http://opensef.org/ I like it, but I've got a feeling that Google somehow discriminates against it - I'm not sure why though. On the surface everything looks perfect - nice urls, proper html codes responses etc. But Google is always slow to index and rank xaneon sites. Like xaneon.com themselves (see my post here: http://opensef.org/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=152&expv=0&topic=672.msg675#msg675) or mine
Does anyone know of any xaneon site with lots of page indexed and a good PR?

Joomla! is more "webmaster friendly" than Drupal.

I'll stick with Mambo or Joombla (for now, anyway) - it took so long to get to grips well with Mambo as CMS (not that it's difficult at all) and I built up a "system" of implimentation and workflow, that it would be difficult for me to now change.
