Excuse my newbie question and feel free to point me to somewhere in the handbook...so I have set up a new drupal site with some categories and terms. I have a term called Books which has a URL like taxonomy/term/2. Is there a way to set the URL http://www.whateversite.com/books to pull up taxonomy/term/2?thanks.
You will need the Path module to change URLs, and if you use the PATHAUTO module you can automatically generate URLs based on variables and rules that you define.
PathAuto is fantastic, I just started using the latest release - the raw stuff and me a little confused for a while. I get the general idea of it now... i think??!?! With clean urls, taxonomy and pathauto it is possible to make sites that are search engine gold dust.
Well whenever you create a URL alias, the default URL (node/##) also remains. Search engines will pick up on this and index both the node/## URL and the aliased URL. This can cause a lot of problems. Global redirect makes sure that only the aliased URL gets seen by search engines and users by creating 301 redirects automatically for every alias you make.
another question: when i use vocabulary to category content. i create terms and subterms. that is, terms:cloth subterms:women cloth, child cloth, shirt ,leather cloth etc.. i assign these subterms parents of terms : cloth. but when i click cloth, only content directly on cloth shown. subterms not show. l wanna this :http://www.2moonsworld.com/quests here quests is terms , subterms is All Quest Guide Level 1-10 ,All Quest Guide Level 11-20 etc. how to do?
