Drupal or wordpress? Which blogging platform is best.. Seems wordpress is best because it is user friendly and also it helps great in SEO point. Any idea?
If you are only making a blog, then wordpress will probably be the easiest thing for a novice user to configure and get rolling with. Drupal is much better for more complicated content management and forum integration. The SEO point you made is invalid as they are both fine for SEO with a little tweaking.
Blogging only? Go for Wordpress. As for numbers of themes available I think wordpress has more of them. Drupal has more plugins in terms of adding functionality.
I have been using wordpress for quite some time now and it is fun and great platform for newbees. Cannot comment of Drupal since never used it.
For Blogging Wordpress is alot simpler as it is designed specifically for blogging, whereas Drupal is more multi-purpose which can be good if you want to break out of the blogging mould.
drupal is awesome as is wordpress if you are going strictly for a blog platform definitely go with wordpress easier integration and usability. There is a slight learing curve to drupal but it has more functionality. If you think down the road you might want this extra functionality perhaps you should go with drupal and begin the learning curve it really depends on your needs!
I use Wordpress sometimes , especially when there are people using it who know nothing about nothing. It's dead easy to use. I knocked up a demo of Wordpress Blog running as a CMS. http://www.simplywordpresscms.com I think it's great for running a site of a few pages but I know from using it that if you need more sophisticated stuff then your drupal/joomla/xoops should be much better.
I use both Drupal and Wordpress. as already posted, i agree that for a complicated site, Drupal is way better. For just a simple blog, Wordpress is way better..
Wordpress has my vote! But to be fair have never used WP.. Joomla Vs Drupal would be closer I would imagine..
Drupal has nearly unlimited options, addons and modules. You can built a single blog up to an ecommerce or social bookmark site. Wordpress is easier to use, but Drupal will give you much more options and ideas to improve your site. I have been using both, with the drupal being the latest and I simply loved it. Of course as others mentioned you have to work with drupal to get to know it and get the most out of it. Just think of what you want to implement and go for it. As for community and support I don't think you will have any problems either way.
