I am currently running my site www.oilprice.com on joomla and have had nothing but problems with plugins, etc.. I’m looking to move and am stuck between drupal and wordpress. Can anyone recommend one over the other? The site currently receives an average of 5,000 uniques a day and about 15,000 pageviews. It has 1,200 pages and is growing quickly. I’m also going to be launching a paid membership system – so they will need good plugins/modules. Also can anyone recommend any membership plugins??
For a fast growing quickly site, better use Drupal. You can learn the reasons in this case study, why a popular site with huge traffic migrate to Drupal. For paid membership, as far as I know, Ubercart module has this functionality already inbuilt. From "What is Ubercart" : Selling site access for members only websites, including automatic renewals and expiration of user access. Hope this help.
I recommend using WordPress. very easy and wonderful. you can search in Google. type word "s2member plugin"
yes wordpress + s2member plugin is the best if you want paid section member... wordpress is more user friendly compares to drupal...it also has more support because wordpress has many user worldwide....
wordpress is not good for big triffic website. the Drupal is better for your site. Wordpress is good for small site
Drupal is much, much better for a medium to large site, it is so much more scalable. As mentioned the Ubercart module can handle paid memberships.
