Hey guys, Im currently studying how drupal works, Do you have any recommendations on what is the most use modules that can be helpful in building Drupal sites? I'm little bit confuse about it's creating a content, primary links and it's navigation, (ex: Home>Services)
Drupal is very easy. I will suggest you to go through their documentation page: http://drupal.org/start
what modules mostly do you use? I installed mostly popular one's but I just thought there might be a unpopular but very useful.
Its not recommended to install many modules. We should install / enable only modules which we really need. Like I prefer to have contact, path, pathauto enabled.
Do not install modules which you not extremely need. And do not use modules which not been updated a long time. It is a sign of abandonment.
Thank you for the advises, I like to install galleries for pictures but there are a lot for development for Drupal 7. I really look for the updated and also if it is actively maintained..
some very nice modules in my opinion are: search404 xmlsitemap pathauto pagetitle path redirect menu breadcrumb linkchecker glossify globalredirect poormanscron dbmaintaince css gzip
Completely depends on your site. For example I can't live without Better Formats but that's because I tend to make Drupal sites where users can create different types of content. I've never built a Drupal site that didn't use Pathauto, either.
It's actually based on your need. But I think only two modules can be called as must have modules 1. Views 2. CCK
Pathauto and views are must-haves. CCK is for d6, not d7. Boost is essential if you have mostly anon users and don't want a slow site. I have two d7 sites though, one has no modules and one only uses two modules, but is painfully slow and the pages are huge, and I don't know how to improve it. I'm about to throw in d7 and use something else because I can't get it faster/smaller.
CCK is now integrated in Drupal 7. Drupal 7 still doesnt have extensive supported modules ... probably be waiting for approx 6 months until comparable number of modules to version 6.
