Drupal Login Issues

I am a true Drupal newbie, but I'm stuck. I restored my files and folders so "My new Drupal website" shows again. But, when I try to login, I get the error message:

"The page you are looking for might have been removed,
had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."

Drupal.org wasn't very helpful. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Normally, I would just type 'Drupal "The page you are looking for" into Google - and 9 times out of 10, the answer will be in the first page of Google.

    In your case, it's not.

First step - you're only set for 12Mb of RAM on your server... This needs to be higher, I suspect... at least 16M, maybe more, depending on what version of Drupal, and what modules you're running.

(Oops... I see you're running 6.4... why not the latest? 6.9? Perhaps you used Fantastico or something like that... you definitely need at least 16M - I think I'm running 64M, if I remember right. This is changed in your php.ini file.)

Next, you'll probably want to simply reinstall from scratch - this will solve most problems - you said something about "restoring" files and folders - but I don't really know what you were doing, so I can't advise you. If you're on the hosting package I suspect you are on, go to *their* forum, they have a pretty good one (or they did a few years ago when I was using them), and there are certainly other Drupal sites running on that host that can more directly help you.

Alot would depend on your level of expertise... did you use Fantastico? Did you FTP it directly?

Hope this helps... If need be, pm me and I'll be happy to help further... I was a newbie at Drupal once too! (and still am to a large degree!)

Thanks for the info, Khadaji and RevoD. My hosting service is down right now. When it comes back up, I'll try both suggestions and let you know if they worked.

Thanks Khadaji. Your advice worked. I had manually deleted the old databases and reinstalled them.

It's a learning experience... I had the same problem with not enough memory - so I spotted that almost at once... and I know from prior experience with many different websites that sometimes, your FTP client just hiccups - and the best way is to simply re-upload everything.

Looked at your site - nice and clean layout. Good luck with it.

P.S. Better add a Captcha system to it - you'll be flooded with Viagra and other miscellaneous spam before long if you don't!
