I just decided to go with with Drupal over Joomla. I'm a complete noob when it comes to CMS. What I want is basically like to have Info content on my site and have a blog(wordpress) in my drupal and also a forum integrated into the site.

Since, I've never used a drupal or even a CMS before. I'm looking for people that are experience to maybe shed some light for me. Is there a particular Forum software that will work well when it comes to intergrating it in with drupal.

And I'm curious to know how would the log in would look like for the blog and forum. like can it be intergrated so that one account is like admin for the site, blog and forum? And like all the other members and so on?

    Thanks in Advance

How come you don't use drupals built in blog and forum. There is an advanced forum module and some extras for blogs. Download a free Drupal theme and your in business.

You can mix the cmss if you would like though, but I would like to know how come.

I just assume that wordpress or other forum softwares would be more advance like have more functions and all compared to drupals.

Wordpress is probably better for a blog although drupal as great addons that will make it work very well and probably fit your needs. Same with the forum thing there are better out of the box forum software but I personally would stick with drupal and make it work for myself. Download the advanced forum module and use it. And tweak the blog a little. Right out of the box you can make the forums and blog work even without the module so you could get started right away. Add the advanced functions later.. this will help you understand or learn drupal a little better anyways.

Thanks for the advice. Although, do you think intergrating the Wordpress vs having a drupal blog with all the advance modules. Which one is easier to do and easier to manage.

The Forum I can go with drupal I think, but for blogs, I think wordpress has lots of themes and all that. Plus again, I'm more familiar with it.

You can integrate Drupal with SMF according to this posting: drupal.org/project/smfforum

I don't think WordPress has anything over Drupal as far as blogs go - in fact Drupal has a lot of mods you can add on for better blogging - embeded video, youtube video, flash, photo attachments with thumbs, etc. I only used WP once a cpl years ago but I know it didn't have those options then - maybe it does now.

Drupal is a more powerful and flexible software than wordpress but its not as easy to use.

The default drupal installation comes with modules for blogging and forums. So if your going to use drupal for one part of your site you don't really need wordpress for the blogging portion.
