    Hello All,

I am interested in starting a E-Commerce Website. What is the most recommended way of finding products to drop ship for the time being until capital is raised to buy in build from warehouses?

I have a Amazon Associates account, but i dont think that simply linking people to a amazon product would have much return.

I also have a commission junction acct but i dont belive that is much help for this type of work.

Let me know what you all think

Well, first you need to decide on exactly what you want to sell. There are thousands of so called drop shippers out there. The tough part is finding the good ones:)) I would decide on the product, then find someone selling the same thing. Chances are they are drop shipping too. Ask them who they are using. I would definatley check them out with the BBB etc. You really need to do your homework before you decide who to go with.

If you are new to IM, you might consider trying it out first before jumping in. Start with something like Walmart, Kmat, Sears or whatever. They all have affiliate programs. They can provide you with product feeds etc and you will end up with basically a mini version of an E-Commerce store. What you will find out is that it will be very hard to do anything with. You will have to find a way to drive traffic to your site. It will be difficult to rank well in Google, so you will probably need to jump in and learn ppc etc. Those other big named sites depend on their brand name for traffic, You won't have that luxury. You'll have to go out and try to get a ton of backlinks to your pages.

    Good luck!!

what kind of traffic do you currently have? also what type of products are you interested in? those are the two main things to look at. also finding a company that is reputable as zeek mentioned. There are plenty of PPS and revshare programs out there. I operate one but its a niche market (natural supplements) but if you are looking at doing a broad range of things then going with someone like a sears might be your best bet until you make some good connects... the untold truth of this business is networking. if you know the right people and can work the margins then you will make out well...otherwise its as zeek said, you'll just end up some mini version of a larger e-com site and will be fighting to stay afloat using ppc, backlinks, blogs etc.

    hope that helps.
