I was in top 5 for a 70,000,000 search phrase on Google. All of a sudden I dropped off the results and was no where to be found...2 months later I am back in the top 5. Google sucks!
me too, this is to much. it happened to me for the third time in five months. my site is only 6 months old, but I buy the domain for 5 years just to avoid this serp fluctuation.
This is typical and I see it quite frequently on a few of my sites -- They are constantly adjusting algorithms to get the best result, and chances are the one they may have been testing didn't favor you. I'd only really be concerned if it was a long time occurrence.
I have two URL's on my site that have disappeared out of the Google index, they were bringing a reasonable amount of traffic from certain search terms for the last 6 weeks or so. The rest of the site is fine and still being indexed. It's just these two articles that appear to have been totally dropped. Could this be a part of what is going on here? Or is it possible that it is to do with something else? Finally, can I expect these URL's to appear back in the index again?
I know of a site that shows up #1 for a keyword every other day.. on the off days, it's nowhere for that word at all. This happens in more than just google too.
I was on page three (up from page 6), then suddenly I am on page 15. I don't understand why so many pages remain in the top 5, or top 10, and why so many fluctuate???? Are only a few websites getting this basketball effect (dribble, dribble, up, down)? Why are we being chosen? Thanks.
yeah just was a google dance, my newer sites had it all happen to them, dropped a good amount for 4-6 days.
Doesn't this usually happen when a dance is in effect? Usually when I see this happen, everyone worries - and try to figure out what's going on.. What's going on? A dance, perhaps or?
OMG my best performing site in terms of $$ dropped big time today. Hope it recovers soon. Had it happen a couple of times before, but this time I have other sites as safety net . Even then it's a 40% loss in revenue
You don't get #1 by posting your links everywhere to begin with. The days of spamming blogs and recip. linking with any website are longgg gone.
