If you have acquired any bad links, get them removed and clean up any spam on your pages.

Then submit a google reinclusion request, saying you wont ever do it again !!

Add some fresh content and build links with high page rank site because there might be possibility that the backlinks you were getting have been devalued overtime, hope it will recover the earliest position.

Did you add a lot of backlinks in a short period of time? An example of this would adding a link to your site in your forum signature or hiring someone to submit to hundreds of directories? Either of those will cause an almost instant (or over night) drop in the results pages.

Google expects backlinks to be developed at a steady and predicable interval. Not 10 links a day, then 10,000 over night, then back to 10 a day. The people at google have designed certain factors into the search engine that looks for certain "things." What did you do to throw up a red flag? Some of the key things are buying links, excessive link exchanges, links from spammy directories,,,,,,,,
