MSN does this sometimes (have no idea why) Probably just a coincidence it happened when you were making onpage changes. Should regain the positions within a week.

If I am guessing correctly you are speaking about the site in ur sig... and the keyword which you are ranking #2 for the keyword...
Is there some other keyword you are looking at ?

Did you check it in the DP Keyword tracker?
If so when it gives the position of 9,986 in red it doesn't mean that's your actual position - you've just dropped out of the top 100.
I have that happen quite a few times, try running it again in an hour or so and usually you'll see it was an error.

MSN does have a habit of dropping a site from the SERPs for maybe a week or two when minor changes are made to a page. Usually after a week or two the page will be back and possibly ranked even better.

As every has stated I can confirm this. I as you w3bmistress am going through the same thing.

I was ranked #1 for about 4 terms and they've all dropped. Those 4 terms brought in about 2k uniques a day to my site, so it's been a looong 2 days. Hopefully they'll be back soon.

nope.. they indexed 225 pages out of about 1400. this number hasn't gone up or down.. i did manage to get back to position 11 for a couple days since they dropped me.. but just dropped me again the other day.. it's frustrating...

I don't think MSN provides PR for web pages, that would be very helpful though.

MSN dropped me for a search term I have been working on so I am going to watch for it over the next few weeks and let you know what happens.

Same thing here. MSN is doing the hokey-kokey with a few sites I know of.

I thought maybe it was just me and my rinky-dink sites.

I too have keywords that dropped from top 5 to page 5+ or oblivion on MSN.

This occurred about 3 or 4 days ago and affects several sites.

    I see I'm not alone.

well maybe they are having issues because i went to check backlinks this morning.. and it came up with 600 and some.. so im going through and click to page 2.. it kicked back to page 1.. I tried page 3.. kicked back to page 1. so they have some bugs there to work out.. maybe elsewhere too..

MSN is picky i have had my site droped from the top 10 to NR in 24 hours and then back again in two or three days...from my experience it happens every time MSNbot attempts to crawl my site and it happens to be offline for whatever reason.....MSN is probably the most picky when it comes to site quality code, accessablity, and page or server not found error codes....if the MSNbot cannot access your site even from a server error your site will drop out of the rankings until the next time the MSNbot can access your site again...I think its MSN's way of making sure its searchers always have accessable sites....
